Joe, an out-of-shape smoker who doesn't exercise or eat particularly well, is lectured by his heart about paying attention to the lifestyle changes that would keep his heart healthy. Using a mix of clay and cel animation, Joe (and viewers) learn how the heart and circulatory systems work, how blood is circulated by the heart, and what causes heart and artery disease. It teaches how a good diet, quitting smoking, and regular exercise can help keep a heart healthy. Joe also learns the dramatic consequences of ignoring his own heart's warning signals. Based on the Reader's Digest series by J.D. Ratcliff, the film is adapted from the original I Am Joe's Heart.
